Yale University IT Strategic Planning

IT Strategic Plan

Reading the Plan

This plan reflects the ambitions and diversity of Yale University and is correspondingly lengthy.  To encourage widespread review of the Plan, we have provided three versions and encourage you to read the versions you find most suitable.  A single page briefing document provides a basic overview and outline of the Plan and its contents.  For those with more time and interest, we have developed an abridged 7-page version of the Plan that summarizes the introductory material; contains a concise but complete listing of the Plan’s mission-related strategic opportunities, objectives and associated examples; and lists the Plan’s foundational IT opportunities. The full 44-page draft IT Strategic Plan contains the full Plan background, contents and appendices.  It will be most useful for those with deep interest in IT or people who wish to delve into more detail in a particular area, such as Teaching and Learning.

We welcome your comments and feedback

We welcome direct comments from across the Yale community: what is right, what is wrong, what is missing?  As one example, please consider proposing a vision vignette based on your own technology aspirations. The team will  meet with interested individuals as a group and welcomes comments via email. Please forward comments or a request to participate in a group discussion to itspcomments@yale.edu via email.  All comments will be acknowledged, collated and shared with Philip Long and with the ITS Advisory Committee.
